ECS PF1 Deluxe / i865pe microphone issue

Back panel audio works just fine, can listen to all my music, watch videos, movies, etc just fine. But damn if I try to use a microphone. Nothing at all, nothing is recorded in sound recorder, and no one can hear me over the various voice over ip programs. Any ideas?
