Hi, I have run the onboard sound on this mobo for quite some months now but recently I took out the power supply for cleaning and put everything back; everything works but the onboard sound doesn't seem to work. I thought it might be a driver problem and reinstalled many times and even formatted and reinstalled driver fresh.
Bios ac97 option is enabled but I still get no sound out of it. I am running windows xp with it and using the 1.60a drivers that came with the mobo cd.

thx if anyone can help out.

Have you rechecked that the speaker cable connector is pushed in all the way into the line out jack(usually green)?

Yeah I tried it in my front panel as well as the back and tried hooking it up on the green many times without results. Also tested the speakers on a diff comp and worked.

I have installed a hercules muse lt pci sound card on it and there appears to be a scratchy and distorted sound out of it. When I try to play any audio sound, the time of playing will be completely stretched out.
I am not sure if this is a irq conflict but no conflicts are listed under device manager.
Oh I did disable the onboard sound.

Please, any help would be appreciated.
