ECS P4M800Pro-M doesn't enable dual core

I backed up my WinXP OS, swapped to this mobo and dual-core proc, and restored the backup.

CPU-Z and msinfo32 both report only one core.

Does anyone know what I need to do to enable the second core? I've already tried updating the HAL from device manager.

Is your XP installation ACPI-enabled? If it is a "Standard PC" installation, it won't see more than one CPU.
