I just got this mb (ECS L4VXA2) and put it together with:

p4 2.2 (no HT)
2X512 samsung pc2700
geForce4 4600
hdd and audigy

And I've been experiencing sudden computer reboots. For example, if I was listening to music, watch movie, or type on MS Word, etc... The computer just randomly reboots (seems like the power is cut and then brought back on) or randomly freezes. I haven't install the latest VIA chipset driver yet, but is this a defect mb? Thanks

Sounds like a case of overheating. What kind of heatsink you got? Did you apply the heatsink? What kind of thermal paste? Did you apply it correctly? How big is your power supply? Got temps (If not check BIOS)? Use PCmark or SandraSoft to do some stress testing to see if it happens with those.

What's the highest for cpu temp? It's a P4 2.2 using stock hsf. I put a thin layer of silver artic 3 (from 3 years ago). I'm checking the temp now.
