ECS L4VAX2 or another budget P4 board

Looking at helping a friend build a budget P4 system and this mobo looks fairly promising for price vs. features.

$58 with 400/533 MHzFSB, 3x 266/333 MHz DDR slots, 2x UDMA 133/100/66/33 IDE, onboard 10/100 LAN and AC97 sound., 8x AGP. Its running the Via P4X400 northbridge.

Its been a while since I've built a computer and even longer since I've gone the intel route. Stability is really important as is a low price tag. I think this with a 2.4GHz and 512MB of PC2700 would work well for a reasonable amount of money. But I'm unfamiliar with this mobo and chipset.

Anyone have experience with this board or know of another similarly priced decent P4 board?

Thanks for the help.

Awhile back I put together a system with an ECS P4S5A and it worked fine ( and still does ) . I also put together a AMD system with a v3.1 K7S5A and had a difficult time getting it to work right and it died totally after 10 months .
