I was able to pickup ECS KT600 mobo real cheap so I thought I would throw together a backup system to have available. I dropped in a old Viper V770 (think its TTN2) AGP card I had laying around just to get it up and running..but...it won't POST...is this Viper V770 of a generation of AGP cards that is not compatible with the AGP standard supported by this board? If so...what cheap/affordable AGP should I buy that would have guarrentied compatibility with this mobo?

yup, i had this exact same problem a few months ago when building a system for someone with that exact same card. apparanetly the Viper V770 uses the AGP 1.0 specification, which uses 3.3V for signaling, wherease AGP 2.0+ use a voltage of 1.5V. AGP 1.0-based cards are not compatible with AGP 2.0+ based AGP slots. In my case, it resulted in a no POST. For a cheap AGP card for that system, consider looking into a GeForce 4 MX-based card. it's cheap, it's nvidia, and it provides support for 3d apps/games, although it is pretty limited as far as performance goes.
