Hi there,
A while ago, I set up a secondary rig with an ECS KT600-A motherboard. I had no problems at all with the setup, it was stable at stock speed, and everything worked as advertised.
However, I recently changed the main HDD of the system to SATA. Now I notice that SATA activity does NOT trigger the HDD LED light on my case. The header itself, and the light works - CD-ROM activity on IDE1 and IDE2 lights up the HDD LED.
I was wondering if I had a bad board, or if it's a design flaw. So, anyone with a KT600-A and SATA, can you tell me if using your SATA device triggers the HDD LED on your case?
Thanks,
Alex
Edit: All appropriate drivers (Chipset, SATA, LAN, video, sound, etc) are installed, and the SATA HDD itself works fine - it just seems there's no connection between the SATA drive controller and the LED header..
Edit 2: Tested both SATA ports, with two different hard drives (Western Digital and Maxtor) - no dice.
