Dumping this board for something more stable - I've had the ECS ks75a running for over a year, but having a slew of problems getting it back up right now.

I've been reading through the threads and here are the suggestions: my budget is around the $50 range.

MSI KT3 Ultra2
Epox 8K5A2+
Asus A7V8X
Gigabyte 7VAXP
Asus VIA A7V333

I'm leaning towards the ASUS A7V333 for the price - the extras I'm interested in onboard sound, onboard lan and usb2.0, I can do without the usb2.0 but a really nice to have.

You should know that most stability problems are NOT the mainboard's fault. Most of them are poor power supply, insufficient CPU cooling, bad RAM.

What Peter said. In addition, now 9 K7S5As and counting, and 3 that friends have made for themselves all running flawlessly (just some w/ new batteries 🙂). The PSU and RAM are more common culprits, esp. for the K7S5A (Never had any trouble, but only used Kingston, Crucial, and once used Centon (whoever really makes them, I don't know 🙂), which is known to be picky about both, and even not like some known good sticks.

If you feel you must get a new board, I have a friend who likes the Epox one, and while I haven't messed w/ the KT3 Ultra2, the KT3 Ultra-ARU was a wonderful board, and I assume stable, as I haven't heard anything back about it 🙂, which I consider a very good thing.
