ECS KN1-SLI EXTREME

I am getting a new computer, and i had a lot of options for a board. then all the sudden i came across this VERY CHEAP board (ECS KN1-SLI EXTREME ) and i been spending the last 3 hours reading about it. the reviews recommand this over the asus A8N-SLI deluxe, the high msi boards, and the high dfi boards as this board actually performs better, anybody owns this board ors knows something about can plz post something here for feedbacks. thx

Well, judging by the manufacturer, ECS, I wouldn't expect much out of it. If you're looking for rock-solid stability and features then DEFINITELY look past any ECS boards (I've owned 3 of them, and none of them were worth a crap 😉 and go straight for ASUS, MSI, Abit, etc.

Don't listen to those "experts". You won't find much ACTUAL experience with the KN1-SLi since it's brandnew. Its lesser siblings KN1 and NF4-A939 are well designed, rock solid boards - and if you use the "Extreme" version rather than the "Lite" or plain, you'll get more features than you'll ever need as well.

Probably nothing wrong with it.

Most of the people who hate ECS boards are either idiots or bought the cheapest bottom of the barrel components to use with them. (crappiest memory they could find, cheapest power supplies).

Being cheap is one thing, being smart with your money is another.

As to the actual board, you didnt say what your needs were or what about the ECS you liked, but another good stable inexpensive option is the Chaintech VNF4/Ultra.

The Chaintech VNF4/Ultra is good, but it isn't SLi like the ECS. I only said to stay away from ECS based on my experiences with them. I have had bad ones. Others have had good experiences, but as I said, I haven't been so lucky.
