I have upgraded a K6 system into ECS K7VZM + Athlon 900 socket A.
All components were moved over to the new system, except the PCI 128
sound card. On the new system I enabled the AC97 onboard audio.
My AGP card is ATI XPERT 2000 32MB.

When I first started up the system, WINME went thru a few hardware
discoveries, and then I installed the AUDIO drivers from the ECS CD.

I already had, VIA 4-1 V29 on the K6 system, but still I tried to
install the VIA drivers from the ECS CD, but the system hung
while trying to install these drivers.

When I restarted the system, it came up, and the sound works, but
I am getting frequent KERNEL32 errors, and blue screens.

Can anyone advise on what I did wrong ?
Should I install WINME from scratch ?

I need major help here. Thanks

Check your RAM first. Thoroughly. Use memtest86. If that tests OK, then continue with a fresh install.
