Duron 1200 vs Thunderbird 1200 or 1300 vs 1.333, whichever one I choose

Which processor is better? I have a ECS K7VZA motherboard to upgrade my fathers PC. I am wondering which of these processors is a better processor. Will not be much gaming, most likely none at all, just basic app's and business packages with lots of internet/email.

I have my old ECS K7VZA board to put in it, I know it handles speeds above 1.5 GHz, but the Duron 1200/1300 wasnt out when I bought this board. Will I have to update my bios? The ECS website doesnt explain the AwardFlash updater and how to upgrade the bios good enough for me to follow. I bought a ECS K7S5A mobo so I could use DDR ram with my Athlon. I am putting a new HD, my old mobo, new processer, case/ps and a video card for my father (quite an upgrade from a p 166). Please help with both my situations, bios important!
