ECS K7SEM problems with wireless

I just upgraded my neighbor's old Micron system running W2K and working great with an Orinoco Silver USB. After installing the new ECS board, better 256MB Crucial PC133, reformatting and installing XP Pro, I can get a connection for only a split second to the Orinoco and the Client Manager says it cannot connect to the device.

I swapped memory, Orinoco USB's and still the problem. I updated all the Windows Updates, Orinoco software and even the latest Orinoco firmware to no avail. It is running the latest bios when we got the board.

The only thing new in this machine vs. the last, was the MB and XP Pro.

Anyone know of any conflicts with the SIS730 chipset, or any updates I need?

TIA:disgust:
