ecs K7S6A Anyone using a barton?

I want to upgrade my dads machine to use a 2500+ barton, I want to use it on a 133bus speed and mod the multiplier. Anyone had any Luck?

Get an AMD TMC (Total Multiplier Controller).

But seriously, with the NForce2 with integrated GeForce4 MX 440 graphics at about 85$ with Lan integrated, why would even think of using an older mobo?

I believe you can accomplish this, even without using the cheepoman bios and/or speedfan(?) - just by adjusting the multiplier in the bios.

Unfortunately he wont pay for much of an upgrade, the 2500+ is $90 in the UK and if I add on more for a motherboard its not worth it for him. I will try it and see.

get a 2400+ and avoid the issues. the difference in performance is almost unnoticable, and its cheaper to boot. The only benefit the 2500+ has over the 2400+ are its larger cache and the 166fsb. if you run the 2500+ at 133fsb and at stock speed of 1.83ghz, then the 2400+ will most likely be quicker. IMHO
