Has anyone problem with ECS K7s5a with Windows 2000 SP2?

I am having problem with Windows 2000 Pro when I fresh installed and install all latest motherboard drivers also did windows update everything...it was stable for 3 days then crushed when the Windows boot up and stopped saying that the windows/system/system32/systemcmd or something like that was missing or corrupted I tried with emergency disk to repair...no go...so I had to reformat the hard drive and re-install over again..it was stable for a week then crashed again...it has happened 5 times for last 3 or 4 weeks. I can't figure what is causing it? I don't know if Windows 2000 is stable or not.

My system is:
ECS k7s5a
256 PC133
40GB Seagate HD ATA100
Intel HAM modem
Que 24x40x10
ATI Radeon
Sony Floppy drive
NEC 17 MultiSync monitor

Should I go back to Windows 98SE?

A bump cause I don't know what the problem is for sure. maybe someone will come by with an answer

could be the vid card, I've heard a number of ppl having some issues with the Radeon cards.

I have 2 systems with the K7S5A board running Win2K, one is a dual boot 98se/win2k, the other is a straight win2k system.. no problems.

This is not a Windows 2000 <-> K7S5A problem.

The behavior is weird, it seems like the data gets corrupted from time to time.

Let me ask you this, other than the major Windows 2000 crashes, are programs on this machine crash happy?

If so, it could be any of the following: memory, HD cable, HD, possibly the motherboard...

PSU problem? Win2K +SP2 on a K7S5A has been flawless for months (say, early September .. on two separate boards and CPUs ... I gave the first one to my sister and bought myself another).

My K7S5a has been stable for months with W2K SP2, one question though, are you overclocking at all, if so that could be giving you file corruption. I had to install with everything set to 133/133 then work up the busspeed.

my system has AMD Duron 700MHz (Spitfire) and it is not overclocked at all and run at 100/100 not 133/133 (I doubt it will run at 133/133).

if I remember correctly it only happens when you shut down the computer...

it never happens with re-boot/restart.

Maybe shut down is too fast and caused corrupt or data missing from system/system32/systemcmd

I don't know.

<< Windows/system/system32/ file might be missing or corrupted >>

I get the same message in XP Pro when i try to boot, i'm not sure if that's exactly what it says, but it's basically the same, the file name might be slightly different. I installed windows XP monday, clean install, booted fine. Then it started rebooting by itself, so i turned off auto reboot and i got a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error or something like that, i don't know because i'm not at home. After that i started getting the boot problem. If i hit enter, it would usually restart and boot fine. Now it wont boot at all. I'm not sure what to do. My system specs are:

k7s5a
tbird 1ghz
256mb crucial pc133
asus geforce2 mx400
56k pci winmodem
40 gig maxtor, 2 partitions windows 25% other 75%
40 gig maxtor for file storage
zip100
hp 8x cd burner

If you figure something out please let me know because i don't know what to do with the thing.
