Which board is the better board...Im buying a new motherboard, not really to upgrade mine...putting my K7VZA in my fathers machine so he can put a 1 Ghz plus processor in it.......so I am getting a new board for mine, and plan on using ol regular SDRAM. So, I can get these two boards for a similar price. The K7S5A is a DDR board, with 2 SDRAM slots for those who still want to use it (like me, cant afford DDR right now).....and the MSI K7T Turbo offers overclocking capabilities......Which would be worth more to you, DDR support or good overclocking capabilities? Just how much can a socket a Athlon Thunderbird 1.2 GHZ (fsb =266) be overclocked? Right now Im leaning to the ECS board. Please help!

Go with the ECS board since there's no point in investing in a new SDRAM board. The ECS has none to limited overclocking potential as you probably know but if you have a good power supply and don't screw with it too much, it's a great, stable board. I've had two of them and the only people who have any problem with them are the people with iffy power supplies or those who flash the BIOS every other day.

The ECS has ddr support as a plus.

The MSI has sdram support only.

They both support the same cpu's (MSI Turbo2 does XP2200+). They both have sdram support.

The ECS is not VIA based and this can be considered a plus.

The MSI is one of the best (if not the best) KT133a based boards. It is very stable and dependable.

The ECS is fussy about PS and can have stability issues.

The MSI can have a max of 1.5 gig of ram. The ECS has a max of 1 gig of ram.

Which to choose?

They are both out performed by the KT266a and KT333 based boards.

If you are just looking for a cheap and dependable sdram board then I would suggest the MSI.
