just got done formating and installing windows went into the bios im gettin 40 c in the system and 47 c on the cpu is that good? about 80 f in house <just turned on the ac>
any input would be great

In the future please include all the pertinent data such as number of case fans, type of heatsink/fan and fan RPMs, what kind of thermal compound, speed of CPU and the Vcore you're running it at. Anyways, 47c is exceptable for that boards bios reading in my experience with it and you don't need to worry.

the case fan came with case looks like junk runnin at 2400rpm only 1
i know i need to get more any recomendations?

I have a Duron 1.0@1.33, stock voltage, on a K7S5A. Under full CPU load, the socket thermistor reads about 20C higher than the motherboard thermistor. Currently, in a 26C (80F) room, I've got 33C/54C for mobo/CPU. That's with a Coolermaster DP-5 heatsink/fan unit and Arctic Silver 3.

It's gone as high as 58C (full-load + hot weather) and doesn't crash, and since that's at default voltage, I'd say it's a healthy arrangement. I might try a $6 SVC GC-68 on it in the next couple of weeks.

Oh, and for a case fan, check out this adjustable one: YS Tech 10cfm-to-40cfm 80mm fan Also, you can boost your airflow by nipping out the metal grates over your fans, which cut back your airflow. Chromed wire grilles are a good substitute.

I have an 1800+ overclocked to 2000+. In a 1040 case with two intake and two exhaust fans (L1A's) and an ax-7 with enermax adj. fan (set to 2400rpm) I am getting around 24c case/41c cpu, give or take depending on load.

the case temp is at 49 c
the cpu is at 55 c

i ordered 3 of these to replace and add on to case svc fans
i have a voodoo5 on the bottom of the board and it is cookin fans workin but it is kickin out some heat <really dont care need new vid card>
now i know im gonna have to do some work to get them fans workin but is the fan on the stock heatsink adequate i mean there is only a 6 degree differance.
1 more question the fans im gettin are 4 pin so is that the power supply leads for the drives?
or the smaller unused one's comin from the ps

sorry for the questions first build for me and im kickin my self for gettin cheap case bu is a lesson learned

i have a similar setup as you with a ecs k7s5a with a duron 1.3 gig and im usually at 46c

The delta between your case temp and your cpu temp is low, indicating the cpu fan is doing just fine.

Your case temp seems high, so adding case fans in the right spots will help.

Overall, your temps are within safe limits.
