ECS K7S5A SCSI CDROM+linux/win2k boot problem

I am having trouble booting to my windows 2000 cd and my linux (slackware) cd. It just says missing operating system but it boots fine to my win98se cd. I have a adaptect 2490u2w scsi card and two different scsi cdroms. The windows2000 and linux cd boot fine in other computers. Is anyone else having the same problems? I updated my motherboard bios and my scsi host adapter bios to the latest ones. Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem. If I can't get this fixed im going to have to return this board and probably stick with asus.. tried and true.

For "native CD boot" type CDROM media you need to have the boot order in the main BIOS at SCSI-first, not CDROM-first as one might expect. Give it a try.

CDROM boot off a drive on an add-on SCSI or IDE adapter is something that's really quirky to implement in BIOS, so I really am less than surprised that there are difficulties - you certainly aren't the first. Reporting this to Adaptec and ECS doesn't hurt either.
