This post may be a little OT but I really would like some help . I am getting ready to ship a a motherboard back to ECS for RMA repair / replacement . A while back I replaced the chipset heatsink with a fan powered unit . The oringinal heatsink was thrown away . The RMA instructions say to remove all accessories so I removed it . However, the language in the RMA / Warranty stuff mentions something about warranty being void if parts are removed . Will they ( ECS USA / or their RMA depot vendor ) accept the board for RMA without the heatsink ? - Thanks
(I have to pay shipping there ( about $8 ) + $10 return S&H + my time packing and going to to UPS so it is not worth doing for this cheap board unless I am sure that they will honor the warranty if the heatsink is not there . )
