I recently put together a system:
Ecs K7S5a with lan
AMD Athlon 1.4 ghz
512 MB DDR Crucial
60 GB HD
DVD Drive... and so on.
WhenI was done putting it together, It wouldn't boot at all. I'd hit the switch and everything would power up and spin up but nothing. So I tried every piece in another PC. I found out it was the processor. It just wouldn't boot with the 1.4 ghz. All I had was my friends 1.33 Athlon and at first it booted at with his 1.33 but at 1000 mhz. Then it booted at 667 mhz. I guess the fsb was all wacko. But then it wouldn't boot. So, I thought I need a bios upgrade but now I can't get it to boot to flash the bios and I don't have any other socket a pcu's laying around. Any ideas. Is it a motherboard problem or a pcu problem. Should I send both or one or either of them back. I'm stumped. I talked to a someone else and they suggested to send the mobo back.
