ECS K7S5A problem w/Audio & Video???

😕
I have an ECS K7S5A mobo and when I get the video (ATI Radeon All-in-Wonder AGP) to work, the sound (Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum) disables. And when the sound is enabled the video is disabled and shows 16-bit. The IRQ's seem to be fine. I can't seem to fix the problem, any suggestions?

Have you tried moving the sound card to a different PCI slot? Is the on-board sound disabled in the bios? Also, I disabled com1&2 and the on-board modem on my K7S5A as well since I'm not using them anyways. What O.S. are you running? Start by answering these questions first and we'll go from there 😉

I am running Windows 98SE, I have tried the sound card in every slot, It won't even post in some of them. On board sound is disabled also. I didn't know there was an onboard modem, is that the onboard NIC? Thanks.

No, there is not a modem onboard, but the setting in the BIOS enables the AMR slot thats built in. Just disable everything that you don't use.
Be sure to to set it to init the AGP first, and also assign IRQ to VGA.
Do you show any conflicts in device manager for the sound card ????
