After switching to ECS mobo I tried to install the latest version of cdrwin. It loads OK but when I try and start the program, my pc crashes.
I have read some threads on people having problems with this mobo but I cannot remember anyone mentioning any problems with cdrwin. And I know it'll take forever searching through all the ECS threads.
Anyone have any ideas?

On my K7S5A, I was able to successfully run CDRWin. Are you sure you're not experiencing any conflicts with other CD Burning software? Usually, these softwares don't play well together.

Nope. Since installing win2k I hadn't ran into the situation where I needed to burn anything. So I literally have the OS, Office2K, and my internet/email prog's.

IIRC i had the same kind of prob due to ASPI drivers not being present.
If you do a search on this forum you should find a thread somewhere that will help you out.

I am certain I have the right aspi layers installed. I had bookmarked this site a while back that had an aspi check utility that displayed the version of aspi. It was fine. I think version 4.6 or something, I can't remember now.
I finally found a cdrwin verion 3.7xx and it worked fine. I guess something on my pc doesn't like the newer version of cdrwin.

thanks for the help.
