ECS K7S5A, GF3 and games

I have the following setup:

-ECS K7S5A
-Powercolor GF3
-Athlon XP 1600
-512 Ram
-40 Gig Udma HD
-SB Live Value
-Win 98

In all of my 3d games, I get 'pauses'. When I am playing UT, all of a sudden it will freeze for a second or two and then keep going. Has anyone else had this problem?

I don't have a GF3, but I haven't noticed problems with my gf2 PRO...I am wondering waht det. drivers are you running...You may be experiencing the infinite loop issue which I think came up with det 23.xx...I am not sure but I would recommend running 21.83's...I believe 23.xx's are menat for winxp...

also: Do you have a nic card??? Or do you have any other devices sharing an irq with the vid card???

I think I do have the DET 23.xx drivers. I will download the 22.xx and try it. I also have a nic builtin to the MB. I'll check the IRQ settings. Thanks
