My K7s5a has decided after a power spike this morning to not want to boot to the OS. It posts fine, detects all drives (1 HD, 2 cdrom/rw) but then just hangs with a blinking cursor. It wont even let me use the boot menu to boot from cdrom or floppy.

Specs:

Duron 1Ghz
ECS K7s5a 3.x 12.15.2001 bios
SBlive value
GF3 ti200
avermedia tv card
Intelchipset 56k modem

Any ideas would be helpful. It has wigged out before, 2 times I can remember it just hanging while in normal use (win2k froze, hard reboot needed) and it has had this "load freeze" before where it wont load the OS. Just 1.5 weeks ago it had a cmos "checksum" error or whatnot that caused me to have reset bios settings after I had taken the box to a lan party.

TIA

Try removing the CMOS battery, unplug the power cord also.

I believe there is a CMOS reset jumper as well.

Let it sit for a few minutes and it should reset the BIOS.

G/L!
