ECS K7S5A: BAD BATTERIES?????

I'm just wondering if any of you have had any problems with your boards. Mine works flawless with an Athlon XP 1600+.
However, every once in a while, like once a week the bios resets and comes up with the CMOS Checksum bad message.
It's annoying to have to keep setting it back up.
I've heard some people complaining about the KTS Lithium batteries that come in these are junk and bad.
I'm wondering if i should just go buy a new toshiba or sony Lith battery instead.
Any input would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

If you've got the Clear CMOS jumper on the right setting it shouldn't happen. Go to your local RatShack, plop down $2.95 (or whatever the price is), and get a replacement. My battery hasn't been giving me any problems for what it's worth.

Hi,

I guess they do have some issues with their CMOS batteries. I put together a system with a K7S5A and when I started it up, the battery was dead. I just went and bought another.
