ECS K7S5A and XP 1700+ overclocking questions

at this point all i can do its FSB adjustments and have it up to XP2000+, how can i adjust the multiplier and the voltage?

can i bridge some gaps like with the old athlons/durons? good old pencil trick?

the cheebo bios doesnt let u adjust the multiplier, i dont think. i tried it and it wasnt too stable. i'm using the honeyx bios now, but can only get up to 147 FSB.

how do i fill the gap?

you would need some epoxy or something. they used to sell kits... you might still be able to find some but since every nforce 2 has adjustable multipliers they're not as popular as they were.

well, i don't think the window defroster kit included anything to fill the gap... it just had the conductive ink pen... which wasn't necessary after the use of graphite pencils was discovered...

Easy overclocking tip

1.Realize overclocking on a k7s5a is gonna suck
2.Go buy a new motherboard.
3.Put the sucker in.
4.Take the K7S5A and stomp it to death while listening to the music that was played in office space while he destroyed that
printer/copier/whatever

non pro version will not boot at 166mhz bus. pro version i dunno, it might. voltage mod must be done manually ecs sucks for oc, then again its so cheap it doesn't matter. i got a 2000+ tbred/ecs pro for 69 bux last week. what more can u ask for

k7s5a supports the 166mhz athlons officially, so i bet it does...

got in on the fry's one day sale? i was thinking about it

the pro probably supports 166mhz officially. the non pro certainly doesn't. its got a hardware bug that prevents boot.

and yea, frys. a few days b4 that they had a celly 1.7ghz +ecs for 59

ok i'm not just looking to unlock it, i actually need to change the multiplier. ecs board doesnt let me change the multiplier.
