i have the above mobo and os. when i update xp i get a blue screen on restart and have to revert back to the un-updated version. i see that ecs has a bios update on their website that fixes the problem. i have downloaded the files. what i need to know now is step by step in layman's terms what i need to do to update my bios. i am kinda scared of messing it up since that may have been what happened to my other mobo, (see other topic).

any help is greatly appreciated.

here is a link to ecs's page on how to update the bios

but basically all you need to do is:
1: create a bootable floppy (right click the A: drive and select "format" make sure you have it set to "copy system files")
2: copy the bios file you downloaded to the bootable floppy
3: copy the bios flash utility to the floppy (you need to download it from ecs also)
4: boot the system with the floppy you created
5: run the bios flash utility from the floppy
6: follow the onscreen directions to finish
7: when its done reboot the pc
8: go into bios setup and make sure you select "load setup defaults" (may also be called "load optimal defaults"/etc/etc)
9: go through the bios and make the setting changes you wish to change
10: all done :)
