I finally got my ECS K7S5A working. I can not get the onboard LAN to install. The only thing I see that is close to LAN in the BIOS is onboard MODEM and that is enabled. I tried the drivers off of the CD (motherboard manufacturers) and the most recent one I dowloaded from ECS's web page. The error code I am getting is Error Code 10.

Ya all helped me get this sucker to boot, now please help me to get the LAN to work.

Thanks

Seems like you flashed the BIOS for the LANless board version ... try again. You might have to restore the LAN's MAC address. www.ecs.com.tw has the tool to do that, and there's a sticker on the board "EA=..." that gives you the address to use.

Yeah, I made that mistake also at first. When you get everything working, try one of the overclocking bios. They unlock a few "hidden" features that help with performance. Been using them for a while now and no problems.

There are 2 that work really well. The first one can be found at this site. It is called the cheepobios and has alot of cool features unhidden. The other is here and it was made by Honey x. It also works well. I chose the cheepobios after using both mainly because I wanted to use fastwrites, which have been rock solid. Either one though has all the fsb adjustments.

Have fun!

They flash just the same as the "official" bios from ECS. The cool thing about either of the overclocker bios, they have all the fsb settings enabled, so you wont have to use a program like chfsb, setfsb, etc... ECS just released a new bios and it has already been modded. These bios are the official bios that are released, they have just been tweaked to allow hidden settings and such.

Have fun!
