Your video card is top of the line. Your motherboard is the cheapest piece of crap on the market. Something doesn't fit there.

lol, I have heard more good things about the ECS than bad, and I need a new non via mobo that isnt expensive, if you can recommend a better one, please do so.

If you must have a non VIA board, get a Pentium 4 CPU and an Intel chipset mobo. VIA's KT266A and KT333 are excellent solutions for the Athlon. Or try an nForce, the new 415 boards from MSI and Asus are inexpensive and you don't have to bottom feed with ECS.

And BTW, if you can afford $400 for a videocard that won't even be stressed for 6 months(at least) than you can afford $100 for a motherboard.

I agree... that is soooooo ignorant to spend $400 on a video card and $60 on a motherboard... if you can explain to me why the Via Kt266a chipset is SO BAD? I might hear you point... something tells me there are a lot of people on this forum that would argue otherwise... I wouldn't touch a SIS chipset for nothing...

First off I didnt spend $400 on a vid card, I had a geforce 3 that I bought last year, and I had a replacement plan on it, so I traded it in for a geforce 4. Second I cant have a via chipset because I get the infinate loop bug that occurs when via chipsets and geforce chipsets mix, and there is no fix for it. Second I can't spend more that $100 on a mobo right now, and I do want something that supports ddr and sdram. And I am not switchig to a Pentium, I like AMD.

Eh, the infinite loop can occur on any chipset with any video card in XP. Of course, I've not had a single one on either my Gigabyte or Abit KT266A's with GF2's and GF4's since I got WinXP in October.

Bottom line: The ECS has conflicts with half of everything. It sucks. For $30 more you can get a Gigabyte 7VTXE+. For $50 more you can get an MSI K7N415.
