Is there anything special i have to do to get this thing to work?

i'm gettin two long beeps pause and 8 short beeps. nothing shows up on the screen.

does anyone have any ideas?

edit.

Problem resolved.

what happened was about 4 months ago, i snapped off the back piece of the plastic surrounding the AGP slot. fortunately it didn't affect any of the electronics so my Radeon works fine in this slot. no problems. but in this case, when i went to put the card back in, it musta caught a bit of the piece in the back. it didnt seat correctly.

i thought i had seated the vid card correctly cause i had just put it in and dismissed that as a possibility. i went back tried it again and w/ a firm push it popped into place. .

Look at your motherboard manual it should have some "BEEP CODES" in it telling you exactly what the problem is (sorta like moris code) .... sounds to me like you have a RAM problem though... check and see if it's sitting properly in the slots. I could be wrong. Look in your motherboard manual for sure though.

:\ it was the video card.

anyway. that's working, now, why isn't my USB working. hmmm. my USB in the back of the PC works fine, but this ECS board has USB pinouts for the front and on my lian li case i have the front ports and cables. i followed the pinouts on the Lian Li site and on the ECS site and low and behold, my USB ports up front still don't work :(.

oh well it's not that important. at least my PC is running. :)

About your USB problem.... go into your BIOS and see if it's enabled. Mine was disabled by default and it works fine now that i changed it. Check your bios
