Hey all,
I am setting up an ecs k75sa, w/ an athlon xp 1600+, 256 MB crucial pc2100 ddr sdram, tekram dc390u2w, ibm scsi drive, plextor scsi 4x12 cdr pioneer slot loading 6x scsi dvd rom, and a scsi zip100. i am using an addtronics 300w power supply, which other people have said works fine. anyway, i am trying to get my cdrom to boot, and it just doesn't work. it skips right over it, and tries to boot my hard drive. i have in the boot order floppy, scsi, then disabled. on my abit bh6, if i wanted to boot a cd, i would just tell my scsi card to boot a cdrom, and since it was a scsi device, the scsi option in the bios would take care of it.
has anyone had success booting a scsi cdrom off the ecs k75sa?
thanks,
spencer

I couldn't get my ecs k75sa to boot off a scsi cdrom. Gave up and borrowed an IDE drive.

Just curious, have you considered trying a boot order of "cdrom, scsi" or "scsi, cdrom"?

Perhaps one of those would work with the cd-rom boot capability of the Tekram card in a manner which you did not expect from past motherboards/BIOSes?

I had same problem when I got my K75SA and adaptec last week. I just flashed the bios to the latest and I was able to boot. Also gave me loads more boot options in the bios too.
