ECS Desknotes--yea or nay?

I'm looking at getting a ECS Desknote G732. My goal is to get a good multimedia notebook for less than $2000 Cdn (as close to $1600 as possible) that can surf, play DVD movies, play MP3's, play AVI/MPEG files not on DVD, and some older games. I know I can do this on a lesser notebook, but this is likely the last one I buy for 5 years!

Can anyone with experience using these give me any warnings? I know that it is heavier and bulkier, but this sucker is more for moving from room-to-room once in a while than being truly portable. I'm also concerned about heat, since I envision using the laptop placed on my lap and I know that this uses a desktop CPU. What about stability--since it is on my lap it may experience some shaking--will this be a problem for the hard drive, wireless network card, etc? How is the sound output--enough power? And it has a TV out--is the quality decent?

Thanks for any answers!
