check out the review here

i've seen preivous reviews months back, but it was of a reference board...this one is production so....damn does it slaughter the GF2 MX

when they integrate this graphics core in their next integrated core logic, the nfarce is gonna look like a joke (again)....
just dump on some c-media audio for 5.1 digital on board.

romp!

edit: missing words?

not this one....this particular card u mean, or the SIS reference card using only a 166mhz core/mem clock?

this card is bumped to a 183mhz core/mem clock, and it STILL doesn't require much of a heatsink, let a lone a fan....i like.

would be a good solution for mobile systems...does SIS even do mobile? - i thougth they did.

I think that's a great review (good site btw). I think maybe more popular site's should review it to get some publicity.

I also think that we should pay more attention to the little players.

ATi and nVidia are going to lose eventually, carrying around like you're a monopoly doesn't get you the money (like Microsoft).
Things are changin' in the economy and the best budget performing boards are becoming the most popular.

Judging by the review, that's the ECS SIS right now.

that's mostly why i posted this threat - lack of publicity for this product...

it runs cool enough to use a crummy sink and no fan, has a T&L unit, can support dual display out and DVI and TV-out options, GF2 MX 400 speed, insanely cheap, 375mhz RAMDAC, DVD assist, etc.

i mean, the card is feature packed and performs excellent for its price, but gets neglected and cries when passerbys pick up the sheite GFMX to take to checkout.

Nope, I am referencing ECS's specific SiS315 board, and in my experience and judging from most reviews I've seen it tends to fall in right between the MX200 and MX400... a bit closer to the MX400 then MX200 though. It does offer dual-display and better 2D then the MX can offer at a similar price point though.

BTW, other websites have reviewed this card. I don't think any of the larger sites have done so, but I can recall at least two other sites that have reviewed this model.
