ECS 848P-A7 not recognizing DVD burner as UDMA device

I have a computer with a ECS 848P-A7 motherboard with a 2.6 ghz P4 running XP Home SP2. I've upgraded the DVD burner to a BenQ DW 1620 dual layer from the NEC 2500 single layer DVD burner that I used to have installed. Now when I boot the computer the BIOS shows the burner as "DVD-RW, ATA-33" instead of as a UltraDMA device. I've done no other modifications. I tried setting the BIOS back to factory defaults but it didnt help. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks.
