ECS 755-A2 or ECS nForce3-A

Sorry about the other blurbs of nothing, hit the "enter" button when trying to go for "backspace".

I have both of these boards and have been reading different forums and have researched each board for it's strengths and weakness'. I have a Sempron 2800+ 64bit architecture, 1 stick of Kingston JEDEC 1GB of RAM. Just thought I would take it to the jury at which of these budget boards I should go use to build my system.

Thanks 😕

Owning one already, I'd go for the SiS chipset rather than the NForce3. If only for the fact that it runs cooler, and has noticeably faster IDE/SATA throughput - but also because it isn't as expensive.

Flip a coin. There really isn't that much difference between the two in price or performance.

If you have an Nvidia video card and are a gamer then go for nForce3 chipset. My pet theory is that there's something in Nvidia's drivers that make their video cards perform better on their chipsets than on competing chipsets.

If you plan to get maximum overclock, then go for the NFORCE3-A because you can use Clockgen. There was one report of near 280MHz system bus on such a setup.

Thanks for the input, I'm not much of an overclocker, I play with OC'g a bit. Cost isn't a big issue as to the fact that I already own both of these board, yes they are budget boards anyway.
