I have recently purchased a AMD 64 3200+ and ECS 755-A2 combo from Fry's Electronics. The bios version is 1.0b. The motherboard would not recongize any hard drive I plugged in. I have tried both western digital 10gb w/ installed window XP and brand new Hitachi Deskstar 180gb in single drive setting. Neither of them can be detected in the bios. I have also tried to clear CMOS, which doesn't help either.

There is also another issue with the graphic card. The board does not seems to work with BFG FX5500, 128mb card. The monitor shows nothing at all. I have tried two FX5500 cards. However, it does work with older Geforce 3 Ti-200.

Anyone has experience with similiar problem that can offer some advice? Thanks in advance.

I have this board with a 3000+ and I had a little trouble with the ide too. One thing was, the bios was set to read sata only, and not check ide. I flashed the bios back to default with the jumper, and everything was better. Oh and another thing. The board is very picky about the whole slave master hookup. You MUST have one set to master, and another (if you have one) on slave. Make sure its set to master if only one.

I have hooked up quite a lot of drives to my 755-A2 (it's a lab test machine), no problem so far. Particularly with the WD drives, you must make sure you got the jumpers right, or use Cable Select. WD has three settings, Master, Slave, and Single. Do not set to "Master" if there's no Slave.
