Economic upgrade to CF 5770's

I want to upgrade my CF 5770 setup. I could splurge on a 6950 before they fix the flash to 6970 ordeal but it's a little pricey, mainly gaming rig in sig.

How are the 6850's single GPU compared to CF 5770's, looking for a single GPU, sorry forgot to mention that my board doesn't have true X16 X16 for xfire.

Questions from sig answered.

1. Budget(Be sure to include currency if not USD): 200-250.00
2. Do you consider rebates? No thank you
3. Brand Preference: always had ATI but doesn't matter.
4. Crossfire/SLI? single gpu
5. Have you previously looked at a product which you feel would fill your needs? 6950 is just a little to expensive
6. Which games (If any)do you plan to play and @ which desired detail? I'd like max settings on BFBC2, WoW, LFD2, Team Fortress 2
7. Are there any other uses(Folding, Photoshop, Video editing or watching Blu-Ray) or features (DX11, CUDA, OpenGL, 3D, Eyefinity) you are looking for besides gaming? Some Photoshop and DX11.
8. Is the performance added by overclocking something you would take into consideration? I would take it into consideration, but I've never done it before.

System Specs:
System in sig
1. Case Dimensions(Length, Low Profile, Cooling): 19.20" x 8.60" x 19.50", Air cooling.

If i'm not wrong, 6850 CF are performing near GTX 580 level. So if Xfire is a near possibility. I would say go for that route. It's worth the extra money for "overkilling"( i prefer to call it future-proofing).

If single GPU is a must, for your budget, the cheapest you're going to find a 6950 is going to be maybe $290 w/o rebates.

The 6870 is a great card, well within your range. With a bit of overcloking, it's a awesome card and blows the 5770 CF.

I think that 6950 is your best bet at the moment. If you can wait a bit, the 560 or 6950-1GB will be the best.

If you can wait 9 days, there will be a new gtx560 out that should drive prices downward for the 6850 an 6870 series. Seems your dual 5770's can last a week or 2 more. It might save you 50$ or so and give you more choices.
