Echostar/Dish network taking away channels???

I was just watching TV and a subtitle came on that Dish/Echostar will be taking away all channels that are owned by the same people as MTV and Nick. Apparantly BET was part of that as well. It had a number to call Echostar and tell them that you want to keep those channels

Does anyone have any information why they are doing this? ThaGrandCow you out there? wanna shed some light if this is true or if it is a cable vs. satalite ad
