Eccp Users.. Help me decide a good size dump :D

Ok..time to save up for a decent sized dump while letting a few dps through the cracks at remote and timed locations on slow machines...

now.. realisticly.. what would be a nice number of dp's to save up to before i dump em all? 😀 10,000? gimme a challange

I think my biggest dump to date has been just under 9k

I usually dont dump less than 2k or so at a time, at anyone time I have at least that much on hand, I always keep reserves on hand, just in case i need them..

I would go for like 10k, good round number🙂

<< I'd be impressed if you could dump exactly (no more, no less) 10,000 DPs. 😀 >>

roflmao 😀 not a chance of me pullin that off.. im workin with a bunch of small files.... mostly because i might lose eccp availability at any moment on my work pcs.. so i have to get the dplists off of them at least every week.

Unlike the dpc, I don't think it's good to hold points all that long especially in a contest where you have to match the winning point with someone else.

Think about the wasted computer power if you held the "winning" dp on your computer for a month. probably a 1000 computers time that could have been doing something else.

well.. it wont take to long to save up 10,000.. this thing is prolly gonna run for a while longer.. 10,000 should take less then a month. easily... especially if i have some stored away already? and if i keep adding to the fleet 😀

Personally, I find megadumps of any sort pointless. The biggest dump I've done is 300 or so, because that PC didn't have internet access for a week or two.

dunno about the mega-dump

i was storing about 1000 dp so i could have a big dump, then comes monday (yesterday) and i try to boot up-nothing

hdd 'failure', not sure what happened yet but i'd hate to think i lost all those dp

hehe. .that blows.. but i think all the pcs that i personally control have been on 24/7 for the last... 2 or 3 weeks.. maybe more.. i'll back em up.. maybe every week.. i dunno..

I'm going to say it again, you can not listen to me because I'm from a different team, but saving dumps are bad for the project.

I agree with you, even though you are from a different team. Mega dumps are bad, and besides that they are quite pointless.
