ECCp service on 24/7 or GUI enhanced on ???

Do you guys think its better to leave the service client on all the time or should I be running the enhanced client on startup. I really have no way of making sure the computers are logged on since its a lab (and people were once encouraged to log the machines off). Most of them are logged on probably 12-18hrs of the day. They are K6-2 500s so I am wondering if the tradeoff will make a difference...

On your K6-2 500 machines do you know the actual performance difference between the two clients you mentioned? The difference between the two can vary depending on processor. Also how many machines?

Is it possible to make the enhanced client hidden to the user? Is it possible for the enhanced client to continue running after the user logs off?

Could you apply the technique described here to use the enhanced client as a service?
