First of all, Happy Turkey Day!!
We got cut short by the Great ECCp-109 Crash of 2001, but not before meeting the terms of the Challenge. Congratulations to all!!
Final DP tally: 107668
<standing ovation>
(Please be seated for the presentation of awards.)
The 1st (and hopefully last) ECCp-109 All-MereMortal Team
Members of the All-MereMortal Team receive a virtual turkey leg for their efforts during the Challenge. (Note: Prizes are non-transferable. Winners are accorded no special privileges; in fact, they must live with the stigma associated with being on the All-MereMortal Team.
)
Rookie of the Fortnight: OrangeKid
Coming out of nowhere, OrangeKid has taken the league by storm. During the course of this Challenge, OK has racked up way more DPs than Eric Dickerson did his rookie season. Not many people can play multiple projects and do it well. This Kid's a natural.
<acceptance speech welcomed>
Biggest Dumper: Jagators
Out of all the controversial plays in DC, large dumps are near the top of the list. Sandbagging is an art form, however, and nobody does it better than Jagators. To beat the enemy, you have to think like the enemy. Every team needs a covert ops specialist, and you won't find any better than the one we've got.
<acceptance speech welcomed>
Best Trash Talker: Sorcerer
These are the guys you love to hate. Part insult comic, part cheerleader, and all ego all the time. Able to demoralize the enemy with witty jabs and crushing retorts, Sorcerer reigns supreme in this category. Trust me, I know. I've got years of therapy ahead.
<acceptance speech welcomed>
Most DPs (in the mini-team category): Team_AnandTech_Federation
This was by far the most contested category. But after carefully weighing all the factors, the position goes to the Feds by a hair. Always a force to be reckoned with, these guys don't take any crap from anyone. And I hear they have cool uniforms, too.
<acceptance speech welcomed>
Best Inter-team Rivalry: BitSpit & Chipster22
A little inter-team competition helps get everyone pumped up. Both awardees passed the 10,000 DP mark during the Challenge, a feat never before accomplished in a race during an ECCp-109 Turkey Day Challenge. These two rising stars breathe fresh life into an aging, passed-his-prime benchwarmer like myself.
<acceptance speech welcomed>
Best MereMortal Impression: XL
Hero worship is something that we should all aspire to. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I prefer hard, cold cash. Unfortunately, fate had other plans for XL's generous gesture. XL, have your people call my people, and we'll do lunch.
<acceptance speech welcomed>
And there, ladies and gentlemen, is your 2001 All MereMortal Team.
<standing ovation, catcalls, hoots, and general roof raisingness>
