DPC has 16488 advantage and increasing. The question is how can DPC beat TA in every distributed computing project that both teams participate? Can somebody explain that logic to me? NEED MORE PARTICIPANTS!!! NEED MORE COMPUTING POWER!!!

1. Entrust : 91658 (25.636378%)
2. Dutch Power Cows : 41331 (11.560116%)
3. Team Anandtech : 24843 (6.948488%) +738
4. Germany : 18499 (5.174097%)
5. SmartTrust : 16927 (4.734415%)

And to think that the only reason I started this project was in protest of dnet not updating their OGR progress page.

Anyway, I'll chase you for awhile DroolMAN! 🙂

PeterN,

Holy crappola!!! With that kind of output DPC is having, there is no way TA can catch up unless there was more reinforcements. Nevertheless, I am still adamant and I am going to do everything to hike up the GHz for the ECCp-109 challenge.

MereMortal,

I understand what you mean. The OGR-24 has been running slightly over a year already and there is still no end to it. And worse still, I noticed that if you submit duplicate OGR stubs, it still gets credited unlike RC5 where duplicates get removed.

In other words, you have no idea whether everyone's stats are the actual unique stubs or they are just duplicates getting resubmitted over and over and over.

I experimented resubmitting stubs and it works. So what's the point since everyone would just copy stub files, flush, copy, flush to their hearts content.

Look at my OGR-25 stats, I actually beat The Federation for crying out loud. And not to mention my OGR-24 stats. Doesn't anyone notice that the numbers get repeated? <Sigh>

Unless d.net starts eliminating the possibility of submitting duplicates and remove any duplicate credits, I am shifting my herd to ECCp-109.

Btw, you are more than welcome to give chase 🙂

So there's a nice way to BOOST your OGR stat. Run your client for a couple weeks with thousands of WUs completed. Copy the whole folder to a diskette or zip. Go to EVERY public computer you can find and flush the sucker.

I think you might want to ask what is more important, a solution to OGR or your stats?

If stats is all you want, you can create your own page and add as many meaningless stats as you want.

buddy, I'm not participating OGR and don't care about its stat.

But if I can come out with that idea, a lot of other people MUST already discover and use that.

Yes, stat is more important for many people around here. They know the odd to find the right key is slim. Getting something to brag is much more practical.

🙂

Sciencewhiz and I contacted Decibel last year regarding the OGR dupe problem. Stats will be adjusted is the last word I received from DNet.

If you cheat to reach success in a contest - you have only screwed yourself.

Woohoo!! Up to 20th place!! 😀 😀

Look out Talisman, I'm coming for you next!! 😉

/me hits the "send results" button on his P2-266!

Incoming!! 😀

Nick

We will eventually be adjusting stats to remove duplicate OGR stubs. The reason we havn't done this yet is because we actually do allow duplicate stubs that are from different users. We're relying on this duplicated work to increase the scientific validity of the result data.

So if you *must*, cheat the system for now. Your efforts will eventually be for-not.
