Cable modem's still out. I hate Comcast's technical support. It's obvious that there's no connection between my cable modem and their equipment on the other end, but they still have me check my network settings on my machine. Here's a snippet from my conversation with them yesterday:

Tech Support Guy: Okay, we're going to need to check your network settings. What operating system are you running?

Me: Windows 2000.

Tech Support Guy: Hmmm . . .

(After I read him the network settings . . .)

Tech Support Guy: Hmmm . . . that looks okay. Why are you running Windows 2000?

Me: What?

Tech Support Guy: Why are you running Windows 2000?

Me (with considerable restraint): Because I like it. It's much more stable than Millennium or Windows 98.

Tech Support Guy: Oh, okay. It's just that Windows 2000 is more of a business operating system. It's not really suited for home use.


It was all I could do to keep from laughing at the guy.

too funny... its hard sometimes for me to sit and listen to customer support guys talk w/o laughing and/or saying something. Same goes for salesmen @ Bestbuy (or anyother place that sells computer stuff). I sometimes just want to interupt them and tell the customer he/she's getting jacked... but anyway, its not my place and I dont think they'd appreciate it.

We're waiting on a few things before we get started... mainly to see how the pProxy will work out and also its kind of a pain to go remove RC5 and install ECCp. Also, We want to see how all this ECCp tweaking will finalize... dont want to go install the client premeturaly as having access to all our systems is not always easy...
 
Reminds me of the time Comcast installed a faulty splitter outside my house and it filled up with water *LOL*
