ECC vs non ECC

Why have I noticed that ECC RDRAM is cheaper to find than Non ECC?? I thought ECC was significantly more expensive? So why would it sell for less??

i'm assuming because there is more demand for non ecc, thus increase in price.

No memory expert here---but non-ecc is non error checking---and faster--so perhaps it has to be better or it would have too many errors to work right.

Weird, I would expected the ECC Rambus to be more expensive as well. Since it's going to more than likely be used in servers. Rambus is pretty much dead I think. It seems it may go the way of the MCA Bus .

So if I have the opportunity to get ECC ram for cheaper than non ECC, I should probably get the ECC modules??
