ECC UDIMM brand mixing?

I recently picked up a Dell T30 for $300. It's a little tower server with a quad-core Xeon and 8 gigs of DDR4 ECC unregistered RAM. Thing is, it only came with one stick, and I haven't been able to track down the same model anywhere I'd trust.

I've mixed brands of consumer RAM before and never ran into serious issues, but I've heard servers can be pickier and this RAM is also ECC. Any risks of it not taking RAM of another brand, even if timings, speed and rank count match? It's for my own use, not any production work.

Maybe it'll work, maybe not. Mixing RAM isn't an exact science, so different combinations can work just fine, or be finicky.

The only way to know for sure is to:

A. Find someone else's post where it worked with the exact same hardware as you have.

B. Plug and Pray.
