ECC Ram question

If you wanted to bother, it wouldn't be worth it without upgrading the rest of your system to workstation class. $300 motherbaords.. intel/3com nic.. SCSI or SCSI RAID 1 or 5..

NO:

1) It slows down desktop PCs
2) It's more expensive

Only use it if you're running a server and you know what you're doing! 🙂

pm has done a ton of research on ECC. Too bad he's no longer here to share it.

*sighs* 🙁

Oh well, you can always look at his previous ramblings on the subject.

The real reason that servers always use it, is because they cannot afford lost data, no matter what. So the "insurance" of ECC is a no-brainer for a server.
