MSI BX Master mobo. Cant even boot when using the first three slots. Will work only on the last slot. Ive used a different RAM(regular PC100) and it works fine. Any ideas why it does this or work around this problem?

i do not have this problem with my bx master motherboard. i have used the 2nd , 3rd , and fourth memory slots. i have a larger heatsink so don't use the 1st slot.

the problem, in my observation, is confined only with ECC RAM. Ive tried a regular PC100 and all the slots worked with it.

Hello Ronein, I just wanted to add that I also have used ECC Ram in all slots in BX master...in fact I have my first non ECC ram module I have had in a long time just a week ago arrive. Are you sure you have ECC checking selected in the Bios? Single sided or double sided? Size of chip? Check the owners manual for other possibilities. The one on disk should be more up to date or check the website for more updated one..hope this helps a little :)
