I might be flying home soon from Thailand.

What's it like in America? Have people come back from the dead? Has the military taken over our streets?

I fear. :(

How many men did you touch while you were there? Maybe you should go get ebola checked before leaving so you don't spread it more.

Ebola is only a problem there; in that wasteland they call Africa.
Over here it's less dangerous than the common flu. Just the news agencies trying to scare people.

My guess is that your attitude would be a lot different if you had ebola.

The bottom line is that it is spreading, and the infected area should be quarantined. Just a month ago I read some "expert" explain how it was impossible for Ebola to make it to the USA. Now we're being told that it's impossible for it to spread now that it's here.
My question is, how many impossible things have to happen before we take common sense action?
Ebola is a very serious and infectious illness. Trained medical personal have contracted it, it's now appeared on US soil outside of a controlled environment. Perhaps it's time to start thinking about what it can do rather than making erroneous declarations about what it can't do.

I've had a head cold for the past few days. Maybe it's the Ebolas... Oh noes!

I wonder if anyone has started a rumor in Africa that you're cured of Ebola if you screw a virgin yet. A lot of them fell for it when AIDS became a problem there, which just made the problem worse.

First you go white, then you hate on your homeland.

It's like we don't even know you anymore. I think aliens took the real you

*Edit OMG he's an ebola zombie! I knew it was the governments! They hate black people and the virus makes them white zombies!

Little appreciated fact: white zombies are actually more human than human.

Define "less dangerous." Last time I checked the flu doesn't have a 50% mortality rate.

News conference just finished with Governor Perry.

This guy showed up on Sunday with symptoms and the Hospital turned him away saying he just had a low grade fever.

He then interacted with dozens of people including children.

They also admitted there are hundreds that have flown in from Liberia because Dallas has a Liberian population of at least 10,000.

The U.S. is fucked and we all know it.

This will make the 1908 Spanish Flu Pandemic look like a common cold.

Oh yeah, this is a win-win. Either he's wrong and we all lol, or he's right and there'll be nobody left to admit he was right. :hmm: I guess that's more of a win-stalemate, actually.

Don't get me wrong; I don't want to watch the world burn, but if it does burn I'm at least going to roast some weenies on it.

I usually don't scare easily, but this feels a little creepy. Kids are world class experts in spreading shit, and this guy was near them. If a single case makes it to a school, then its a game changer. The school will explode with the shit.
I can imagine it spreading slowly and people shrugging it off due to the media crying wolf for cash all the time, and before you know it we're really deep in the shit.

I'm all for canceling commercial air travel FROM those countries again and forcing them to go to a quarantine area to leave the region. That way, if airlines need to drop off supplies or people want to go help, they can get in, but must be quarantined to leave.

Just watched the press conference on tv during lunch. a lot of "no, we cannot answer that at this time" answers. Parents are even concerned about sending their kids tomorrow to school here.

The damn news stations are hyping it up way more that it needs to be.

If a single person is saved by washing their hands often I'm going to laugh at the dead ATOT members (RIP though) who swear rolling around in germs and garbage is great for your immune system :D

Yet it's spreading at unprecedented rates over in Liberia and Sierra Leone....

It's making me wonder what be going on over there to make it spread so fast....

Do you really have to wonder? Countries with poor hygiene and medical practices have an increased chance of spreading disease? No way! Reports are loved ones spend time with the infected (ineffective quarantine) and even handling of the bodies after they are deceased is improper from a medical standpoint.

When someone I am in close contact with exhibits symptoms of bleeding out of ever orifice, I will monitor my temperature. If during the next 4 weeks (even adding an extra week!), I get a high fever, I will go to the hospital immediately for quarantine.

I would keep my kid home. That's that. Regarding the media, I agree and its not only dangerous in its own right, but honestly that is a reflection of a society based on self centeredness, dishonesty and greed. That will be the reason this experiment of a society fails in the end, because its a fake society where things like the media no longer serve their purpose, which is to report actual news of things that actually matter and in an honest way.
Humanity is short sighted and immature where the important things are concerned. We are like toddlers wandering toward the edge of a swimming pool.

Yet, none of them have Ebola.
