No. It's completed when the buyer receives the package and is satisfied; then the seller will receive positive feedback.

So obviously the deal has not yet been completed for either party, since if there is a problem the seller is still responsible for trying to recitify the situation.

Give us his email address/eBay name so we can all tell him how stupid he is and avoid dealing with him.

In all honesty, it does seem that many people will leave feedback right after you pay.

I am not one of them. I always wait until the transaction is fully completed.

Nope.

The transaction isn't complete.

When he receives your package, he may not be pleased with it. There are good and bad ways to deal with such a situation and the steps he takes to fix that displeasure are as much a part of what kind of customer he is as how fast his payment was.

That's how I feel...when buyers ask me to leave feedback before they receive the item, I say something along those lines and they always understand.

Yeup, the transaction is not complete. You have the right to wait, but in this case.. just be cool and give him the feedback.

I recently had a lady.. she paid, i put positive feedback on her.. she tried to return my product because she won another auction cheaper.. I said no.. and she bi*ched and gave me negative feedback. I wish I didn't give her a positive feedback.

That would piss me off and is exactly the reason why I don't bother until they've recieved their item and posted me positive feedback.

I use to be a seller on ebay and a jackass leave me a negative after a month! saying that the cd had scratches! and was jumping all over the places!
Now why didn't he go right ahead and negative me asap?
You guess it, i had already left him positive now he's just doing that to rub more salt into me seeing as I have already a few negative from a few others like him.
Ebay is crazy btw, LOL. 3 negative made it nexts to impossible for me to sell anything afterward and I called it quit.

I really don't see the big deal in leaving feedback once he pays. The buyer has completed their end of the deal. I always leave positive feedback within 24 hours of payment and I have 65 positives / 0 negs.

Also, if you persist in holding out, you might get a negative just because you were stubborn about it.

Part of the buyer's responsibility is acknowledging receipt of the item & verifying that everything was as expected.

Until then, no feedback should be left.

If he has a problem with that, send him here:

Leave feedback after completing any purchase or sale on eBay. Your honest feedback shapes the eBay community and impacts the success and behavior of other eBay members. You can see a list of all the sales and purchases you still need to leave feedback for.</a>

If a seller never leaves me feedback first, then I'll never leave them feedback, simple as that.

I've never had a problem with an item on eBay yet, but if I do, I'll be sure to try and make mends with the seller before leaving negative feedback.

Feedback should only be one way, from buyers to seller, not seller to buyers. This is where ebayer tries to con people into paying more money for a mediator to remove bad feedbacks from seller/buyers alike. LOL, this is messed up!

btw, 2 wrong makes a right, lol...
now if the buyer had left positive, then there is a good reason for him to bitch about it saying I left you one, why have you not do the same???
An experienced ebayer, cannot take chance of risking a few bad apples to ruin his reputation from some buyer who just think its funny to neg someone who is wide open with hey hit me! can't neg back cause once it done, it cannot be edited.
again I blame it on stupid ebay policy to not able edit feedback.
btw Fvck ebay, its their fault seller have to resort to this tactic.
ebay is nothing but a scam corporation who feeds off people's misfortune like a vulture.
They treat feedback like some tattoo where only they can remove or edit it.
People you must realize this and complain at ebay instead to change their bad policy.
They make 50 bucks to remove or change feedback from both parties, its ridiculously stupid. i have at time wish I can change 2 of my feedback because it was a mistake! but ebay just want more money out of me. they fvcked me up good, more mad at ebay then at anyone else thought.
BTW, user who think about hitting seller with neg would think twice because their positive can change to neg! ebay is evil, they know very well what they do is wrong but like to torture people, and hold them for ransom. Its not enough that we already paying them a premium to sell, can you say pigs who is never satisfy with what they make?

Leave him feedback. You can always respond to anything he leaves for you.
If someone has 200 positives and one negative, with an even measured response, it is usually apparent WHO has the problem.
I leave feedback after buyers have paid. So far, so good. Communication is the key here , I think.

I always wait. I have over 360 positives and zero negatives. It's better safe than sorry. Oddly, I've never had this become an issue.

Guess I always get the good bidders :)

I've learned to wait until the very last moment when you can still leave a feedback to leave one.

You're being the idiot, not him. When he paid he was done. He contracted to purchase and upheld his end of the bargain. Sounds to me like you're just being a weasel making sure that you get good feedback before leaving him any.

Well said. With all due respect, I believe feedback should be left for buyer once an auction is paid for. Yes there are jack@sses out there but if what are are selling is a working item in great condition, indisputbly matching your item description, there are no worries. I have a 150+ feedback (it's a lot to me) with 0 neg. I've always left feedback soon as the payment arrives.

I mostly sell, I only leave feedback after I receive feedback. It just helps ensure that I will get feedback.

I wouldn't post anything on his ID , and if he doesn't just forget about him.

When I sell, I leave feedback that the user was a good buyer ASAP.

That's the way it should be.

Lol. Remind me not to sell anything to you.

I don't care if the buyer gives me feedback or not, but I won't leave them feedback until they have received the item and are happy with it. I ask them to email me when they get it and let me know if everything is ok. THEN I leave feedback. If they don't leave me anything, I don't care. I'm not in a popularity contest, I already have over 400 positives and no negs. But I won't leave a positive until I know I am done dealing with them.

I wait until they send me an email confirming that the item is as sold /delivered OK and no problems.

I haven't had anybody complain.
