ebay/usps advice

Wondering if anybody has any advice or experience with this type of situation.

Bought item off ebay

I was on vacation and had my mail held while usps tracking shows it was delivered.

When I got my mail redelivered the item wasn't there.

Waited a week to see if maybe the delivery notification was just off, but still no item.

I'll call local usps place on Monday and ask to look for it, but assuming it's lost forever, do I file a claim with ebay? The auction had ebay buyer protection, but I assume that doesn't matter since the seller shipped the item and tracking shows it was delivered?

Do I just chalk this up to a loss?

Postal service might not have delivered your eBay prize with the rest of your mail if it's a larger parcel. Go down to the post office and hope it's still there.

If USPS delivery confirmation says it was delivered, you will likely lose any claim you file with PayPal. They don't bend sellers over that far to keep buyers happy, ha.

If you go down there, bring any printed records you can get. They might help convince someone that you're not crazy or scamming, and they might look a little harder, ask someone else to look, make a phone call, etc.
