I remember there was a guy... a few year back... that had an ebay business that sold expensive collectibles. Without anyone's knowledge, he spent a month listing items he did not have and taking money for them. Then he just fell off the face of the earth. They thought his wife and/or workers were in on it... but after a few months, they still never heard a word.

I don't remember if he was ever caught, but he got away with hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I love when they get caught... but usually they never pay the money back to the poor ppl who sent it in good faith.

Meanwhile, eBay keeps their cut of the winnings, and releases a press statement about how stealing is bad, mmkay?

It makes me wonder what his eBay feedback was like and how long he was a registered member. Cisco routers & high-end gaming rigs fetch a pretty penny. I feel bad for the buyers, but I wonder if any of them bothered to do research before sending funds. :(

Why I will never use eBay again, ever.

Some people will rack up their positive feedbacks in order to set up one big score like this..

I agree, if Google came out with an Auction style type route it would be bonkers and ultimately will be the destruction of eBay. Google is a great company because they help people save money in areas while they make money in other areas that doesn't effect absolutely everyone. eBay buys paypal and then jacks rates up even more and more and more and more. If Google ran the show with an auction style site, they would just have ads all over the place but in return have lower listing and ending final price fee's... as long as you sell your soul to them in form of data.

I love the ads on the site.

"Moving? Have too much stuff? What to do"
Guess he should have moved sooner.

"Refinance with bad credit"
I wonder if they'd help this guy out?

"Work less, get more done"
This guy was doing that, but they arrested him for it.

That would have been funny, but you called them sammiches, which is probably one of the most annoying things ever.

Am I the only one who read the OP and wondered, "Hmmm... Haven't seen PAB posting here for a while..."
